In Memory of Robert Tomczik


October 4, 1952 - February 5, 2019

Robert Richard Tomczik, 66, of Cumberland passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at his home. He was born October 4, 1952 in St. Paul, MN to Clyde and LaVerne (Frink) Tomczik. Robert was married in Turtle Lake, WI, on December 23, 1978, to the love of his life, Lorelee Ploog.

Robert was a man that was larger than life, who always made his presence known, and was the life of the party. He was a master carpenter and craftsmen who built custom homes for 40+ years and spent many hours putzing in his shop even after he retired. He loved spending time on the lake fishing, playing cribbage, listening to music too loud, reminiscing with family and friends, and sitting in the hunting blind with his daughter laughing and telling stories. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife: Lorelee; children: Shannon (Corey) Campbell of Turtle Lake, Melissa (Duane) Swonger of Hammond, WI, Ryan (Maria) Tomczik of Apple Valley, MN; grandchildren: James, Alexa, Josh, Haley, Kelsey, Mara, Seth, Casey, Breanna, Kylee, Logan, Noah, and a baby girl on the way; great-grandchild: Aiden; brothers: Thomas (Char) Tomczik and Wallace (Anita) Tomczik; sisters: Sharon Tomczik and Brenda (David) Bertino; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland, WI from 3-6pm with a short service to follow. A private family burial will be held in the spring.The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mayo Home Health and Hospice for making it possible for Robert to spend his last days in the comfort of his home and for the care and support they provided.
