Robert M. Janney “Barney”, age 74, of Dallas, WI passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at his home & surrounded by his family.

Robert was born November 11, 1949 to Clarence & Florence (Barry) Janney in Madison, WI where he attended Madison West High School. Robert married Dyann Newton on July 28, 1970 at Madison & in 1973, the couple moved to Dallas, WI where they raised their two children, Michael & Dorothy “Dotty”. Robert retired from Dairyland Power after 28 years of service. He was an avid woodsman & in his spare time he enjoyed working on his property & visiting his friends at the neighboring golf course. He was well known for his good sense of humor and ability to make people laugh.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife of 54 years: Dyann, son: Michael (Laura) Janney, daughter: Dorothy (John) Zimmerman, grandchildren: Allan, Shayna, Logan, Ashley & Angela, great grandchildren: Elijah, Henry & one on the way due in January, 2025, sisters: Debra Callahan & Patti Key, as well as many nieces, nephews, other loving family members & friends.

A public visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, July 26th, 2024 at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home, 331 Dallas Street West, Dallas, WI 54733. A Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
