Robert James Essick Age 87 of Rice Lake, WI died Friday June 15, 2018 at Barron Care and Rehab in Barron, WI. Robert was born on March 18, 1931 in Nebraska to John and Florence (Brown) Essick. He graduated from the Spooner High School in 1949 and then entered the United States Air Force and was Honorably Discharged.

He was married to Virginia Sauleen on February 7, 1959 in Spooner, WI. Bob was an Insurance Agent for Prudential Insurance for over 25 years. He enjoyed being outdoors, antique collecting, hunting, fishing, collecting vintage toys and cars, spoons, pens and fishing lures.

He is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher and Robin Essick of Menomonie, WI and Jeff and Ruth Essick of Rice Lake; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Ken Weyenberg of Duluth, MN; and 6 grandchildren, Nicholas, Kaitlin, Joel, Jack, Laura and Rachel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Essick.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30AM Monday, June 25, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rice Lake, Father Edward Anderson officiating, with interment in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Spooner, WI, where Military Rites will be accorded him by the Rice Lake Veteran Honor Guard. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church on June 25, 2018.
