Robert “Bob” Edward Bradway

Robert passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2017 at Country Terrace Assisted Living in Rice Lake, WI.

Bob was born February 5, 1928 to Robert and Bessie (Allar) Bradway. Bob was raised in the Springbrook area and was the oldest of three children.

Bob met Frances Raczykowski while working in Hayward, they were married on September 13, 1947. Nine children were born to this union.  Bob and Frances lived in Hayward, Marshfield, Springbrook and Spooner.

Bob worked most of his life at the Washburn County Highway Department. He started work there in 1952 and retired in 1982.  Bob and Frances did quite of bit of traveling after Bob’s retirement.

Bob was very family oriented, and whenever there was a need with one of his children he would come to the rescue whether physical labor was needed or opening his home for one of us to stay for a while. Whenever there was a family gathering, he made sure we were all there.  The Allar family reunions were the high light of the year when growing up.

Even as Bob’s health was diminishing, his face would light up when holding and talking to his grandbabies.

He is survived by his six children, Edward (Fern) Bradway, Linda (Gary) LaRue, Suzanne (Todd) DeMar, Shirley (Benjamin) Barrett, Christine (Steve) Gagner and Robin (David) Sommerfeld; thirty-six grandchildren; fifty-three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances; three sons, Dennis, Darrell and Raymond; a granddaughter, Danielle; a sister, Elenor; and a brother, Arthur.
