Rita R. Runge, age 94, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Dove Healthcare-South in Eau Claire.

She was born December 29, 1928 in Jasper, Minnesota to August and Elizabeth (VandeRostyne) Pakuer.

She graduated from Pipestone, Minnesota high school in 1946. She married Harris Runge in Pipestone on November 23, 1948.

They moved to Cameron in 1953. They were members of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Cameron, and then members of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Barron.

Harris and Rita enjoyed many wonderful trips, bowling and dancing. She also enjoyed needlework and crocheting.

Rita is survived by her children, Carol (Dennis) Olson of Eau Claire and Sharon (Scott) Tahtinen of Barron; grandchildren, Michelle (Josh) Lien, Amanda Olson and Bryan (Gina) Tahtinen; great-grandchildren, Logan Olson-Bengtson, Camden Lien and MaKenzie Tahtinen; and sister-in-law, Delores Runge of Pipestone, MN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harris on June 19, 2010; an infant daughter; Karen in August of 1960; her parents; and an infant great-granddaughter, Cadence Lien in 2008.

The family is grateful for the wonderful care given to Rita at Dove Healthcare-Barron and Dove Healthcare-South in Eau Claire.

A private burial will be held at a later date.
