Richard “Rick” Roppe Age 72, of Winter, WI, died Friday, August 25, 2023 in Osseo, WI.

He was born to Leslie and Audrey (Guggemos) Roppe on September 25, 1950 in Rice Lake.

Rick graduated from Birchwood High School in 1969. He then attended UW Superior and graduated with a Physical Education degree. Rick went into the construction industry and owned and operated R&R Builders and also worked for his son at Elite Cutover Connections. He loved to hunt, fish, snowmobiling and watching NASCAR. Rick enjoyed watching his boys in all of their sporting activities.

He is survived by his significant other of 25 years, Mae Ames; 3 sons, Mark (Jessica) Roppe, Scott (Kala) Roppe and Joe (Katelyn) Roppe; 14 grandchildren, Alex (Zane), Kyle, Kaitlyn (Austin), Amy, Madelyn, Aspen, Beau, Brody, Ben, Boone, Bear, Bella, Noah and Morgan; a brother, Jon (Jeanette) Roppe; 3 sisters, Sandy (Jerry) Owens, Judy (Bob) Skar and Mary Beth Johnson; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Audrey Roppe; a brother, Brent Roppe.

Funeral Services will be held at 7PM Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals, with interment in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Birchwood, WI. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM Tuesday, September 5 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals. A celebration of his life will be held at Mama Roppe’s Railside at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Birchwood Bobcat Riders Club - 1118N Sunset Lane, Birchwood, WI 54817.
