Richard (Dick) F. McKeag, age 90 of Grantsburg, Wisconsin passed away on December 3, 2020 from complications related to the COVID 19 virus at the Burnett Medical Continuing Care Center in Grantsburg.

Dick was born on June 30, 1930 in Red Wing, Minnesota to parents Lilian (Kobs) and Arthur McKeag. He graduated from High School in Northfield Minnesota in 1949. He served from 1953-1955 in the US Army and was stationed in South Korea during his time of service.

After graduating from Minnesota School of Business with an Accounting degree in 1957, Dick began working for a public accounting firm in Minneapolis. In 1961 he moved to Grantsburg to work for Rolite Travel Trailer Company as its office manager. In 1971 he purchased the Burnett County Abstract Company, which he owned and operated until he sold the business in 1991. He was also an Agent for Farmers Insurance Company from 1976 until he retired in 1997.

On June 27,1959, Dick was united in marriage to Delight Wedin at the West Sweden Lutheran Church in Frederic, Wisconsin and together they raised three children.

Dick served on numerous local boards including the Grantsburg School Board, Grantsburg Fitness Center, Faith Lutheran Church, Grantsburg Industrial Development Corp. and Farmer’s Independent Telephone Company. In addition to being actively involved in the community, Dick was an avid supporter of Grantsburg High School sports and was a true Pirate through and through.

Preceding him in death are his wife Delight; parents Arthur and Lilian McKeag; and brothers John and Roderick McKeag.

Dick is survived by his Children; Bryan (Linda) McKeag, Denise (Ken) Trone, and Wendell (Laura) McKeag; Grandsons: Matt, Ben, David and Andrew McKeag and Jason Trone; Twin Brother Robert and Brother William McKeag; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Due to the COVID pandemic, a private graveside memorial service and Interment will be held for the immediate family on December 12, 2020 at Riverside Cemetery in Grantsburg.

Dick was a resident at Burnett Medical Continuing Care Center in Grantsburg for the last 16 months of his life, and his family would like to extend their deep appreciation for the loving care they provided to their Dad during that time.
