In Memory of Richard Faye


August 18, 1936 - April 20, 2019

Richard “Dick” Faye, age 82, of Webster, WI, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at the Burnett Medical Continuing Care Center in Grantsburg, WI. 

Dick was born on August 18, 1936, in Minneapolis, MN, to parents, Bernice (Moe) and Kermit Faye. He spent the early years of his life attending school in Minneapolis where he graduated in 1954 from Washburn High School. He then went on to attend Gustavus Adolphus College.

Dick was united in marriage to Phyllis Swanson on January 18, 1957, in Hudson, WI. From this union, two sons were born, Ron and Rick. The family lived many places including Richfield, Minneapolis and Bloomington, MN. In 1968, Richard and Phyllis started their own business called, Promotional Sports. As a family, Phyllis, Dick and the boys would work shows and promote the business together. In 1991, the couple moved to Webster to live out their retired years together.

Some of Dick’s hobbies included: speedskating, football, golfing and fishing. He will always be remembered as a role model who always instilled positive values and traits such as, faithfulness, kindness, humility and love for his family, friends and colleagues. He will be deeply missed.

Dick is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis Faye; sister, Sandra Faye; and daughter-in-law, Marla Faye.

Dick is survived by his sons, Rick Faye and Ron (Pamela) Faye; grandchildren: Danny, Lucy, Veronica, Samantha, Hunter, Dan and Ben; brother-in-law, Wayne (Judy) Swenson; and a long-long list of special friends.

The Memorial Service honoring Dick's life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 2:00pm (visitation from 12:00-2:00pm) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Webster, WI, with Pastor Steve Ward officiating. Interment will be held at Clam Lake Cemetery in Webster.
