In Memory of Richard Cook
Richard Duane Cook, 87, of Cumberland, died peacefully on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Willow Ridge Healthcare in Amery.
He was born August 16, 1933, in Cumberland, WI to Lyle and Evelyn (Blanch) Cook.
He was married to Lois Whitt on August 28, 1954 in Cumberland and shared 66 wonderful years together.
Dick is survived by daughters: Beverly Alfonse of Amery and Karen (Steven) Frank of West Memphis, AR; grandchildren: Shannon Alfonse-Steinbuch (Scott), Kyle Alfonse, and Cole Frank (Sandra); great-grandsons: Dylan Alfonse, Karter Steinbuch, Nathan Cichon, and Evan Cichon; sisters: Sharon Dietrich of New Brighton, MN and Carol Helbig of Turtle Lake; plus nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois on September 29, 2020; son, Richard, and sister, Lila Vang.
Dick was a jolly jokester and will be remembered for his sense of humor, the love of his life (Lois) and his other loves: hunting, fishing, golf and winters in Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, June 14, 2021, at First Lutheran Church in Cumberland (visitation prior to service at 10:00 AM); with Pastor Tim Schmidt officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery.
