In Memory of Rebecca "Becky" A. Hall
Rebecca (Becky) Anne Hall (Dyer) born February 21, 1950, known for her dry sense of humor, impeccable taste, and savvy shopping passed away on January 13, 2025 in the company of her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Becky is survived by her husband Bob Hall, seven children and their spouses Keesha Pfeifer (Eric), Tiffany Deckinger (Clayton), Tanner (Courtney), Taylor (Stacy), Jordan (Kate), Haylee Hershey (Jerry), and Shayna Tokheim (Lance) along with twenty-five grandchildren. She leaves behind a younger sister Debby Eldred (John). She was preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Aleen Dyer, brother Nick Dyer, and grandson Fane Hershey.
Rebecca Anne Dyer was as fair as they come. Pleasant in all ways, Becky strode for kindness and where that couldn’t be found, she focused on discounts. Rebecca was born and raised in Davenport, IA where she attended Davenport West High School. Becky was a competitive synchronized swimmer and an active member of numerous clubs and organizations. She graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in interior design and planned to conquer that industry. However, life had a different plan for this Cyclone from the Hawkeye state. That plan came in the form of a humble, motorcycle-driving, dairy farmer named Robert James who stole her heart and whisked her away to the exotic locale of Shell Lake, WI.
And what fortune she found there…?! A lifetime view of the prettiest lake in the world and seven of the darndest kids to share it with. While she may never have designed a fancy house, she spent the next 50-plus years creating a home for her ever-expanding family. Becky worked hard to instill in her children a sense of right and wrong and the importance of hard work.
If there were an award for the most time spent watching your children's activities surely she would have received a lifetime achievement recognition. The one thing Becky hated more than the drone of football was the squeaking of a basketball court, yet she spent countless hours transporting, attending, or prepping at least one child for whatever activity they were a part of. Despite all the time spent in the stands she never did figure out how football works. She wasn’t merely a spectator but served in many leadership roles through church, 4-H, and Girl Scouts.
Those lucky enough to have been in her presence knew Becky as a beacon of warmth and a stalwart of fairness. We used to laugh till it hurt, now it hurts so we laugh. Life won’t be the same without her, and we’ll miss her quietly bold take on life.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Faith Lutheran Church in Spooner. Visitation will be from 10 AM - 11 AM.
