Raymond Leonard Taylor Age 92, of Rice Lake, WI, died Saturday, December 30, 2023 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born on September 11, 1931 in Rice Lake to Joseph and Mary (Romportl) Taylor.

Ray attended school in Haugen, WI and was married to Cherrie “Tootie” Kritch on May 28, 1952 in Dobie, WI. Ray was a dairy farmer, worked for Wissota Gravel Pit in Haugen, worked for Minnesota Wisconsin Truck Lines for 13 years and Wisconsin Gas Company for many years. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, gardening and playing his concertina.

He is survived by his wife, Cherrie “Tootie” Taylor; his children, David “Toby” Taylor, Mary (Chad) Bovee, Darla (Erik) Chilson, and Carla (Jeff) Weber; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Eileen) Taylor; sister, Beatrice Hall; many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Susan Anderson and Connie Fritz; a granddaughter, Casey Weber; his parents, Joseph and Mary Taylor; 2 brothers, Joseph and Bernard Taylor; a sister, Jean Koosman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dobie, WI, Father Adam Laski officiating, with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30-11AM Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is serving and assisting the family with the arrangements.
