Raymond Louis Kurschner Age 70, of Hendersonville, NC, formerly of Barron, WI, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Clearview Nursing Facility in Juneau, WI.

He was born on February 28, 1952 in Ladysmith, WI, the son of Leslie and Esther (Kallenbach) Kurschner.

Raymond was raised in the Barron County area and attended Barron and Rice Lake Schools. At 17, Raymond joined the United States Marine Corps. He moved to Hendersonville, NC in 1994 and lived there till he returned to WI in 2021. Raymond was an avid golfer. In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his sisters, Carol Glaser and Ruby Gonsowski; brothers-in-law, Charles Lammers; nephews, Pauly Effertz, Daryl “Jr” Viltz and Mark Glaser; niece Pam Giesinger. He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Rae Kurschner (Josh Murphy); granddaughter, Adelaide Nymeria Murphy; twin sister, Kay Lammers; 3 brothers, Kenneth “Kenny” (Jeanette), Richard “Dick” (Jill) and Doug Kurschner; many nephews and nieces.

Funeral Services will be held at Noon, Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, with interment in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI at 1PM, where Military Rites accorded him by the Rice Lake Veteran Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Funeral Service.
