In Memory of Raymond Jerome Baranzyk
Raymond J. “Ray” Baranzyk, age 83, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2018 at his residence in Hayward. He was born on December 11, 1934 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Leo and Clara (Wolf) Baranzyk.
He graduated from Spooner High School in 1953. After high school he was trained in underwater welding, earning his certificate in both the U.S. and Canada. He also served his country with the 950th Engineer Company of Spooner in the Wisconsin National Guard. Ray was a charter member of the Brule River Sportsman Club. He was in the Steamfitters Union Local 601 where he worked for Johnson Controls and the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee for most of his career. Ray retired in May of 2000 from the university.
Later in life, Ray loved to trout fish in the Brule River every chance he could get.
He is survived by his brother, Gerald Baranzyk of Hayward, WI; and many cousins and dear friends.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, January 4, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hayward. Interment will be held at a later date in Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery in Antigo, WI.
