In Memory of Raymond Cook
Raymond C. Cook, age 76, of Radisson, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2019 at Marshfield Medical Center in Eau Claire, WI. He was born September 24, 1942 in Ellsworth, WI the son of Leon and Emma Cook. He was united in marriage to Kimberly Ann Grapp on May 12, 2000 at Gray Cloud Island in St. Paul Park, MN.
Ray attended Park Senior High in St. Paul Park, MN. He owned and operated the Greenleaf Tree Service in the cities for many years. He was a Boy Scout Troop Leader, longtime Loyal Order of Moose member; and a lifetime member of the South St. Paul Rod and Gun Club.
Ray was also an avid boater, and loved to travel on the Mississippi River. He was proud to have completed a river trip from Chicago down to St. Louis. There were also the yearly Canadian fishing trips which he enjoyed. He also enjoyed snowmobiling when he was younger and as of late was active in the Radisson/Exeland Trailblazers ATV Club. He loved spending time with his grandchildren whether by phone or visits. Most of all, Ray was a good soul; a jokester and storyteller that could light up any room. We here on earth may have lost a Ray, but Heaven gained a Ray.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Kim of Radisson; his sons, Raymond (Sharon) Cook of Cottage Grove, MN, Richard (Lori) Cook of Cottage Grove, MN and Joshua Walters of Radisson, WI; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Ray is preceded in death by his thirteen brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Hayward Funeral Home, 15571 W County Highway B in Hayward, where visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of the service. Interment will be held privately.
