
In Memory of Ray E. Gohde Jr.
Ray Eugene Gohde Jr., age 75, passed away on February 14, 2025, in Chetek, Wisconsin.
Ray was born to Darlene and Ray Gohde Sr. on February 26, 1949, in Ladysmith, Wisconsin.
Ray had a deep love for the outdoors, where he found peace and joy in fishing and hunting. These were not just hobbies for him, but true passions. Whether he was casting a line or trekking through the woods, Ray always felt most at home outdoors. He also enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends around the card table. His favorite game to play was Hand and Foot. His love for life, adventure, and connection will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Ray was a proud Vietnam War veteran, who served his country with unwavering courage and dedication. His time in the military shaped him into the strong, resilient person he was, and he carried those lessons of service, honor, and commitment with him throughout his life. It was clear to all who knew him that he was a man of great integrity and strength, who had sacrificed much in the name of duty.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Darlene and Ray Sr., son, Chad Gohde, and siblings, Alan and Ronnie Gohde, and Sharon Brown.
Ray is survived by his son, Jason (Jolene) Gohde, step-daughter, Bridget Lagore, daughter-in-law, Amanda, grandchildren, BrinaRose, Lillie, Taylor, Shabre, Alex, and Shane, siblings, Donna, Lonnie, David, Kevin, Terry, Colleen, and Rick, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held in the spring of 2025.
Ray will be interred with military honors at the Northern Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
