Rachael Buckwheat Smith Age 45 of Rice Lake, WI, died Saturday, January 7, 2023 in Eau Claire, WI.

She was born on December 6, 1977 in Hayward, WI to Richard and Roxanne (Sundberg) Buckwheat.

Rachael graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1996 and was very active in high school. She was manager of Pizza Hut in Rice Lake for many years. Rachael was married to Lance Smith and they later divorced. She will be missed for the love that she showed to others and for her beautiful smile that was given to her.

She is survived by her mother, Roxanne Buckwheat (Gregg Grassnickle); father, Richard Buckwheat (Steve Turek); twin sisters, Megan Magnus and Mary Johnson; a brother, Rick (Jana) Buckwheat; 3 nieces, Katie, Madeline and Greta; 3 nephews, Bryce, Brennan and Nathan.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is assisting the family with arrangements.
