Phyllis Jo Homesky, age 55, of Spooner, WI, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025, at Essentia St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN.

Phyllis was born January 2, 1970, in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Charles Homesky and Myrtle Sam. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren as much as possible. Phyllis liked going to the casino with her son Spiritboy and being at home taking care of her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her significant other Gerald Malone Sr.; stepmother Faith Saddler; sons Jimmy Dennis, Bruce Dennis, Spiritboy DeCora & Gerald Malone Jr; daughters Carmen “Blaire” Dennis, Jerni Malone & Dusti Rose Malone; sister Charlene Homesky; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her mother Myrtle; father Charles; grandson Tristen Richard Miller; brother Richard Saddler Sr; sister Cynthia Homesky; and Regina “Mom Gina” Reese.

Tribal Funeral Rites will begin at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Big Drum Ceremonial Center in Lac Courte Oreilles. Melissa “Babitaw” Boyd will officiate. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Monday, March 17th at Big Drum Ceremonial Center.

Honorary casket bearers will be Cynthia Gauthier, Jamie Jack, Gloria LaMorie, Kaye Martin, Mary Mendoza, Tracey Pringle & Pauline Sam.

Casket Bearers will be Randy Cadotte, Greg Fleming, Timothy Gauthier, Nick Miller, Jason Pringle, Bryan Sam Jr. & Jake Taylor.
