In Memory of Peter P. Buhl
Peter Paul Buhl of Milltown, WI and Mission, TX, passed away on Wednesday October 16, 2024 surrounded by family and friends at the age of 90. Peter, and his twin George, were born on September 3, 1934 to Emma Buhl in Browerville, MN. His father, Peter B. Buhl, tragically passed away in an airplane accident before his birth.
After high school, he joined the United States Navy for 4 years. He was a Korean War Veteran and served our country aboard the USS Thomas F. Nickel. He was awarded the Navy Good Conduct Medal in recognition of his honorable and faithful service.
Peter married Catherine (Cathy) Swanson on July 27th, 1957. Peter and Cathy had 5 daughters and raised their family in Stillwater, MN. They were happily married for 65 years. Pete took pride in his family and enjoyed spending as much time as he could with them.
Pete enjoyed woodworking, playing cards, listening to music and most of all singing karaoke. In his retirement he enjoyed his winters at El Valle Del Sol, in Mission, Tx where he made many life-long friendships. Pete was one of those rare individuals who could talk to anyone and made friends easily.
Pete is preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Emma, his wife, Cathy, his daughters, Kimberly Buhl and Mary Ann Kroker, son-in-law, Paul Kroker and grandson, Paul Lodahl. He is survived by his daughters, Jan (Chris) Lodahl, Pamela (Paul) Goulet and JoAnne (Ken) Bernardin, 9 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, sister, Mary Perez, and many nieces and nephews.
Peter will be missed by all who knew him. He had one of the easiest and largest smiles you could ever hope to see. His spirit, caring personality, laughter and the way he made everyone feel important, will never be forgotten. A celebration of life will be held at Ready Randy’s, 1492 131st St, New Richmond, WI on November 9th from 12-4.
