She was born March 25, 1942 in Shell Lake, WI to Oscar and Olga (Sommerfield) Meister, the fifth of six children and was raised on the family farm west of Shell Lake. Pauline managed the farm, was the founding organizer of the Tri-County Dairy Promotion which sponsored events such as dairy breakfasts. She was a member of the Milk Marketing board. Pauline loved farming and also enjoyed gardening, canning, freezing and harvesting berries. She organized many community events including a benefit after the Siren tornado of 2001. Pauline authored "Dewey Country," which was published in local papers for nearly twenty years, concluding in 2018.
