In Memory of Paul J. Willger

Paul J. Willger Sr., 94, of Rice Lake died Friday, November 3, 2023 at Marshfield Medical Center in Rice Lake, with his family by his side.

He was born September 26, 1929 in Haugen, WI to Peter and Katherine (Tschernach) Willger Sr.

He was married in Haugen, WI on September 12, 1950 to Frances Uchytil.

Paul farmed his entire life, he enjoyed playing cards and drinking beer with friends and family. His biggest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and he always had candy to give them.

He is survived by children, Richard of Rice Lake, Rose Mary (Larry) Watson of Peoria, AZ, Louis (Kathy) of Rice Lake, Charles (Carol) of Rice Lake, Theresa (Don) Dostal of Rice Lake, Lucille (Gerhard) Taylor of Rice Lake, Paul (Catherine) of Rice Lake, Monica Soldner of Rice Lake, William of Rice Lake, Patricia (Scott) Kirchner of Exeland and Carol Willger of Rice Lake; 25 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Zita Willger; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; son, Dennis; son-in-law, Bruce Soldner; daughter-in law, Janelle Willger; grandson, Isaac Taylor; parents, Peter and Katherine Willger; brothers: Peter Jr., Joseph (Frances) and Alphonse "Bud".

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, November 17 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church - Haugen, WI with Father Joseph officiating. Interment Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are Andrew Willger, Aaron Watson, Brandon Willger, Chad Willger, Troy Dostal, Austin Soldner, Cody Willger, Kaden Willger, Dusty Soldner, Kyle Watson, and Cory Dostal.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 16th at Skinner Funeral Home in Rice Lake and one hour prior to Mass at church on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Holy Trinity or Marshfield Hospice.

Skinner Funeral Home of Rice Lake is serving the family.
