In Memory of Patricia K. Weiss

November 22, 1940 - April 28, 2023

Pat Weiss was welcomed into our Savior's loving arms April 28, 2023. She was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. A Graduate of Shawnee Mission High. She married Donald in 1958 sharing 57 years of a loving marriage before he preceded her in passing in 2016. Pat was a resident of Spooner and Trego for 45 years. She worked at USPS before retiring.

Pat is survived by her 2 sons Bob (Pam) and John (Sharon), also her grandchildren Matthew, Nathan, Emily, and Samuel, a great granddaughter Iliana, and her sister, Marilyn Higgins of Concord, NC.

Pat had a strong faith in God, was a very active member of Spooner Wesleyan Church. She would help with vacation bible school, loved the trunk or treat tradition, and helped with the weekly bulletins. Her church family was her family up here.

Pat was a very compassionate, kind, and giving soul, very active and loved being outdoors. Loved gardening and working in her yard. She could frequently be seen walking near her home.

Pat loved animals, had 9 dogs in her life, most recent is "her little man" AJ. Some of her dogs ate better than we did, she would buy steak, or save some from a restaurant to mix with their food. Philly cheese steak sandwiches from Subway being shared with them weren't unheard of. She had several bird feeders and always made sure the birds in the area were well fed no matter the weather.

Loved paddle boating on Namekagon lake or taking her ATV on the local trails with family and friends. Of course, her dog was always in tow.

She loved golf and always had a membership at the Spooner golf course (made a hole in one there once and given a gold putter).

Loved to play games with family and friends. She loved to try new things, age never seemed to be an obstacle, whether doing puzzles, trying new restaurants, kayaking, or playing virtual reality golf. Pat’s love of music led her to play the guitar and she recently taught herself to play the ukelele.

Pat will be deeply missed by so many family, friends, and all of God’s creatures.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Spooner Wesleyan Church in Spooner, where visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the hour of the service. The committal service will be held at 3:00 P.M. at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pat’s memory may be made to the Spooner Wesleyan Church, 1100 W Maple Street, Spooner, WI 54843 or to the Washburn County Area Humane Society, P.O. Box 328, Spooner, WI 54801.
