In Memory of Patricia A. Roach-Pydo
Patricia Ann Roach-Pydo, age 70, entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, February 8, 2024, at her home in Winter, Wisconsin with Thomas Lee Pydo, her loving husband, at her side. Her courage and faith throughout the cancer journey was a testimony of her abundant strength.
She was born January 7, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois to Thomas J. Roach II and Shirley N. Roach.
Patty grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. It was here where she was employed as an Administrative Director of Safety and Personnel for Fernstrom Moving Systems in Rosemont, Illinois, and where she and Tom first met in 1978. On July 31st, 1982, the two married and made a beautiful life together in Winter, WI, where they both were active members in the community where Tom was born and raised. She served this community through her roles as a waitress in local supper clubs, working at the Winter Co-op, as a home health aide for Sawyer County, and most importantly as an active member of Zion Lutheran Church where she and Tom were married.
Patty’s natural compassion and thoughtfulness touched the hearts of this small town in big ways.
Over the last 14 years, Patty and Tom spent winter months at their Leesburg, Florida home where they cared for Tom’s parents who have passed in recent years. Here she also forged life-long relationships, dedicated her time to serving others, and was an active member of Good News Church.
Patty expressed many times her faith, knowing she would be with Jesus once she left this world. She also felt extremely blessed knowing that she had a loving husband who did everything he could for her. In Patty’s final weeks, she had many visitors who expressed their love for her. Her kitty Elmo never left her side, snuggling with her wherever she was in the house.
Patty is survived by her husband Tom Pydo, brother Thomas J. Roach III of Waukegan, IL; brother Tim (Joann) Roach of Buena Vista, CO; brother Michael Roach of Woodstock, IL; and, sister Sue (Jeff) Steffenhagen of West Bend, WI; and brother-in-law Ted (Darla) Pydo. Patty is further survived by her beloved nieces and nephews: Erik (Katie), Jessica (John), Rachael, Michelle (Dustin), Sarah, Nadine (Josh), Mary, Aimee (Alex), Todd (Erica) and Travis (Cassie). Additionally, Patty was a great-aunt to Britton, Penny, Lucy, Mason, Brooks, Harper, Briar, Gabe, Aria, Tucker, Tyson, Tripp, Eve and Owen and, most recently, a great-great aunt to Raven.
Patty was preceded in death by her father Thomas J. Roach Jr., mother Shirley Roach and nephew Thomas J. Roach IV.
Family, friends and others whose lives Patty touched are invited on Saturday, February 17, 2024 to Zion Lutheran Church 5268 N. Cemetery Rd., Winter, WI 54896. Visitation begins 10:00-11:00 AM, with services proceeding at 11:00 AM. We invite you to gather afterwards, in the church’s fellowship hall, for a luncheon provided as we celebrate her life, reminisce, and support each other.
