In Memory of Pamela Laski

May 16, 1962 - May 8, 2023

“Amen, amen, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat; but if it dies, it produces much fruit.” (John 12:24). Pamela Laski, age 60, of Haugen, WI, died Monday, May 8, 2023, having received Jesus in Holy Communion, surrounded by her children, Aislinn, Gwen, & Father Adam. She was listening to music and went peacefully to sleep.

Pam was born May 16, 1962, at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, WA. She attended Owen-Withee High School and graduated in 1980. She married Allan Laski on Sept. 11, 1982. They lived together throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota for 21 years beginning in Withee, Wis., Stanley, Wis., Lake City, Minn., Detroit Lakes, Minn., Monroe, Wis., and Rice Lake, Wis., where Al managed the Rice Lake UBC store. Al and Pam have three children, Aislinn, Gwen and Father Adam. She loved her family deeply and her life was committed to raising her young family and investing in them as they grew up. She was a Eucharistic adorer at Our Lady of Lourdes, and regularly attended mass at Holy Trinity in Haugen, where she lived a few blocks away. She worked as an aide at the Haugen grade school for a number of years, as well as a variety of jobs around Haugen & Rice Lake before moving to Chippewa Falls. Pam was a voracious reader. She loved to listen to music. She loved gardening and flowers. She loved investing time in her young family and their emotional & spiritual growth. She loved the Green Bay Packers, Tombstone pizzas, coffee, and Old Fashions (not all at the same time). She volunteered to help with BINGO at local nursing homes. Pam loved spending time with her six grandkids. As her struggle with Huntington's disease took away her mobility, she was all the more devoted to loving them and to bragging to her neighbors about them, with pictures and cups of coffee at her house in Haugen. Her favorite days at the Rutledge Home in Chippewa Falls involved spending time with her grandkids and family. Pam was grateful for the excellent love and support she received from the staff at the Dove Healthcare - Rutledge Home in Chippewa Falls, and the staff of St Joseph’s Hospice in Chippewa during her last days.

Pam Laski is survived by her mother Beverly Peissig of Cumming, GA; daughters, Aislinn (Scott) Koenig of Chippewa Falls and Gwendolyn (Luke) Pierce of Chetek; her son, Father Adam Laski of Rice Lake; her siblings, Mike (Jan) Peissig of Missoula, MT, Jackie (Craig) Felts of Henderson, NV, Dana (Anna) Peissig of Cumming, GA and sister-in-law, Linda (Mark) Levan of Stoddard; grandchildren, Mathew, Noah & Carter Koenig and Delilah, Camden & Gabriel Pierce.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Peissig; husband, Allan Laski; and mother-in-law, Stella Laski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, May 12, 2023 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Haugen, with Bishop James P. Powers officiating; interment will be in the church cemetery at a later date. Friends may call from 4 to 7:30PM on Thursday May 11th at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake. The visitation will conclude with a vigil service. There will also be visitation 10 to 11AM at Holy Trinity prior to the funeral on Friday.
