January 12, 1938 - August 20, 2022

Palma Jean Koenig, 84, of Turtle Lake died Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Barron Care & Rehab.

She was born January 12, 1938, in Turtle Lake, WI to Henry and Ruth (Spencer) Bowers.

She was married in Zion Lutheran Church on November 20, 1954, to Walter Koenig, and they were married for 67 years.

Palma was an avid reader and enjoyed passing the time doing word searches. She was a very talented seamstress; Palma made her daughters’ wedding dresses and many Barbie clothes. She loved working as a day care provider for both family and friends for many years.

Palma was given the gift of 17 years thanks to a liver transplant.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Koenig of Turtle Lake; daughters: Pam (Randy) O’Flanagan of Glenwood City, Nancy (Blaine) Peterson of Turtle Lake and Leslie (Doug) Anderson of Turtle Lake; daughter-in-law, Wendy Koenig; grandchildren: DuWayne (Amber) O’Flanagan, Valerie (Paul) Pogue, Paul O’Flanagan, Mercedes Koenig, Peter (Deana Zemke) Koenig, Paula (Joe Bearheart) Koenig, Keith (Kelly) Kahl, Kevin (Kim) Kahl, Jenny Polzin, and Stephanie (Nick) Bylander, Jackie (Scott) Visger, Rob (Mindy) Warland, and Derek Eggert; great grandchildren: Hayden, Ajahnei, Lucian, Everlee, Grace, Trent, Elliot, Emmet, Spencer, Abi, Avery, Halley, Easton, David, Caleb, and Evelyn; sisters: Patty Madison, and Peggy (Raymond) Nelson; nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.

Palma was preceded in death by her son, Randall Koenig; her parents; sister, Pauline Seeger; brothers: Perry Bowers, Pearl Bowers, and Philip Bowers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Almena, with Pastor William Brossow officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 10 - 11 AM.

Skinner Funeral Home of Turtle Lake is serving the family.
