Omey Dale Sylte, age 92, of Rice Lake, WI, died Monday, March 17, 2025 at his home.

He was born on November 19, 1932 in Shell Lake, WI to Omey and Eveleth (Schock) Sylte. Omey graduated from Rice Lake High School and then enlisted in the United States Air Force as a Radar Technician and was later Honorably Discharged. He was married to Janet Swanson on August 8, 1953 in Rice Lake. Omey worked for Remington Rand, Vonasek and Schieffer and for Suburban for 31 years where he retired. He loved to fish, hunt and his children built a cabin and spent lots of time working there.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Janet Sylte; 2 sons, Keith Sylte and Kevin Sylte; a daughter, Robin Sylte; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his son, Monte Sylte; his parents, Omey and Eveleth Sylte; a sister, Elaine Kulju; a brother, Dwayne Sylte.

He is so missed so much already and life is not the same without him. He was a wonderful husband, father and person.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Stanfold Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, Rev. John Bergson officiating, with interment in Orchard Beach Cemetery in Rice Lake. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
