In Memory of Norland Gardner


October 1, 1935 - July 14, 2019

Norland “Skip” V. Gardner, 83 of Chetek passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  He was born October 1, 1935 in Winter, Wisconsin the son of Clara (Davis) and Charlie Gardner.

Skip was married November 5, 1954 in Center City, Minnesota to Marlene Selvig.  Together they raised three children.  He was a very hard worker, retiring from the logging business.  Skip loved the outdoors, deer hunting, fishing, feeding his squirrels, and back in the day-raced stock cars.  He really enjoyed being a grandpa and great grandpa.

Skip is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marlene, children; Kathy (Joe) Jacobs of Barron, WI, Jack (Donna) Gardner of Chetek, WI, Lori (Holt) Spence of Hastings, MN, grandchildren; Heather (Danny) Martino, Krystal Johnson, Ryan Zajic, four great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and two more expected in November.  He is also survived by three sisters; Janell Severson, Charlotte Coleman, Cheryl (Dan) Treinen, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Matt Zajic, sister, Leta Walsh and three brothers, Norval, Clifford and Gale Gardner.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 25, 2019 at the funeral home 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Paul Poppe officiating.  Family and friends may gather for a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Please join the family for a luncheon and continued fellowship following the service at Faith Baptist Church.  Inurnment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Dallas, WI at 2:00 P.M. 

He was a great husband, father and grandpa and will be forever in our hearts.

The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
