Nellie “Nel” Brawner Age 90, of Birchwood, WI, died Wednesday, March 13, 2024 in Rice Lake, WI.

She was born on August 19, 1933 in Rice Lake to Carl and Esther (Johnson) Jones. Nel graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1951 and then graduated from Barron County Normal School. She taught school for a year and then worked for United Airlines in the ticket office for many years. She loved her dogs, llamas, being with her family and friends. She was very involved in the Birchwood Senior Center and the Mikana Parade. Nel loved to travel the world and also planned senior trips around the United States.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Eva (Todd) Saffert, Tom Jones, David Musil, Dennis Musil, Sharron Brackeen, Susan Taylor, Pam Brunclik, Julie Polzin and Mark Musil; many great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Esther Jones; and 2 sisters, Lyla Jones and Velma Musil.

A celebration of her life will be held from 4-6PM Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI.
