In Memory of Naomi Chermack
Naomi Chermack, age 92, of Barron, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Pioneer Nursing Home in Prairie Farm.
She was born on November 11, 1926 to Gustav and Elizabeth (Ella) (Divis) Dostal. She was raised in Haugen on the family farm and graduated from Rice Lake high school. She married Leo J. Chermack on April 25, 1950. Together, they raised 3 sons and 4 daughters.
Naomi enjoyed gardening, canning, and was a member of the VFW ladies auxiliary for many years. She loved to work on puzzles, bowling, dancing and going to the VFW weekly, joining her girlfriends, Millie and Ann for many Wheel of Fortune games and drinks. She lived for the visits from her children, grandchildren and siblings sitting around the table listening to the stories and events going on in their lives.
Naomi is survived by her sons, Tom (Cathy) Chermack of Eau Claire, Bob Chermack of Ridgeland and Brian (Bonnie) Chermack of Barron; daughters, Diane (Gerald) Henning of Barron, Karen (Donel) Kolba of Clear Lake, Cindy (Craig) Allram of Clayton and Betty (Brent) Borgen of Barron; 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard Dostal of Rice Lake and Don Dostal, Sr. of Cameron; sister Gen Weber of Rice Lake; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband; 3 brothers, Jerry, Gus, Jr., and Wilfred.
Funeral services for Naomi Chermack will be Monday, July 8, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Barron with Father Bala Policetty officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 until 11:00 A.M. Monday morning at the church. Burial will be at Wayside Cemetery in Barron.
Arrangements are being handled by Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron.
