In Memory of Myron E. Leef


January 11, 1943 - November 7, 2023

Myron Edwin Leef, age 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at his residence in Wascott, WI.

He was born on January 11, 1943 in (Frederic, WI) the son of the late Ainard and Fern (Bown) Leef.

He was united in marriage to the late Sandra Levings on August 20, 1966 at Holy Assumption Catholic Church in Superior and enjoyed 39 wonderful years together.

Myron proudly served his country in the United States Army. He had a successful career working as a heavy equipment operator for Lakehead Pipeline. He loved his work and continued to work for 12 years past his retirement. He never retired from his role as a supervisor, as he loved to watch what you were doing and let you know “you’re doing it wrong”. He enjoyed life in the Northwoods and spent a lot of time hunting and snowmobiling. Myron loved to eat and drink beer and always enjoyed the company of good people. Most of all, Myron loved his family and cherished time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Anthony Leef of Superior, Wi, Shannon (James Nicholas) Leef of Lake Nebagamon, WI and Sherry (Brian) Howard of Saginaw, MN; his nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; his siblings, Kay Hemmer, Donna Horrocks, Rex Bruner, Gene Bruner, and Sherry (Jeff) Haug; his special friend, Kathy Rassbach and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A celebration of life gathering will be starting at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at the Log Cabin Tavern, 2821 South County Road E, South Range, WI 54874. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank, 4503 Airpark Blvd, Duluth, MN 55811.
