In Memory of Mitzi Paulson
May 19, 1932 - January 18, 2018
Mitzi Paulson, age 85, a longtime resident of Spooner, died on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at the Essentia Health- St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth.
Jacqueline Lou Olson was born on May 19, 1932, in Ashland, Wisconsin to parents Gunnard and Marie (Nelson) Olson. As a child, her father took a transfer on the Railroad from Ashland to Spooner where she grew up and graduated from Spooner High School. On April 19, 1954, she was united in marriage to Harold “Hy” Paulson in Spooner. During her working years, she was a bookkeeper at the Ben Franklin Store and later for the Spooner Hospital. Mitzi had a passion for making quilts and genealogy. She was also an avid Bridge and Cribbage player, and also enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.
Mitzi is survived by her sons Michael Paulson of Vadnais Heights, MN, Patrick Paulson of Spooner, WI, 3 grandchildren: Adam, MacKenzie, Tyler, 3 great grandchildren: Adelyn, Griffin, Langdon, sister Carol Rippey of Seattle, WA, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Mitzi is preceded in death by her husband “Hy” Paulson, son David Paulson, her parents, and 7 brothers and sisters.
A memorial service for Mitzi Paulson will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at 11am, at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Dan Hermanson officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be at the Church one hour prior to the service. A private interment will be at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery with her husband.
