Michael John Locke Age 69, of Rice Lake, WI died peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at the Atrium Care and Rehab in Chetek, WI.

He was born on April 5, 1950 in Rice Lake to John and Berniece (Busch) Locke. Michael graduated from the Rice Lake High School in 1968. He worked at Holsum Bakery, Montgomery Wards for 5 years, Gustafson’s Dairy for 10 years, Norm and Ann’s Bar for 10 years and McCain Foods for 18 years. Mike enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, camping, watching the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers and loved being with his friends and family.

Mike is survived by his children, Michelle and Dave Putnam of Rice Lake, Melissa and Brandon Salmela of Esko, MN & Michael and Heather Locke of New Richmond; 5 grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Aidan, Tyler, Ryan and Lauryn; a brother, William and Karen Locke of Oshkosh, WI; 2 sisters, Dorothy and Mark Berg of Rice Lake and Mary Locke of King, NC; many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Berniece Locke; and 3 brothers, Russell, Matthew and Leonard Locke.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rice Lake, Father Ed Anderson officiating, with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery in Rice Lake. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM Monday at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
