In Memory of Michael L. Copenhaver


April 8, 1971 - March 15, 2024

Michael Lee Copenhaver, age 52, of Stone Lake, WI passed away peacefully on March 15, 2024, at his home, surrounded by family and assured in his faith.

Michael was born April 8, 1971, in Wheaton, IL, the son of Robert P. Copenhaver and Bonnie J. (Prince) Casserly, formerly Bonnie Copenhaver. He was raised in Thorp, WI on a dairy farm before moving to Tallahassee, FL, where he owned and operated a successful tow truck business and served as a firefighter, including six years as a fire chief. He was an expert mechanic with a love for cars and motorcycles. Michael moved back to Wisconsin in 2015 where he became a member of the Stone Lake Wesleyan Church. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him as someone who dedicated his life to his only child, loved his church and Jesus, and always knew how to crack a joke.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Hannah Copenhaver of Stone Lake; his mother, Bonnie J. Casserly of Tallahassee, FL; his siblings, Gary Copenhaver of Las Vegas, NV, Scott Copenhaver of Gilman, Laurie Smith of Tallahassee, FL, Robert Casserly of Ashland, OR, Richard Copenhaver of Gilman; and several nieces and nephews.

Michael is preceded in death by his father, Robert Copenhaver.

A memorial service will be held for Michael at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Stone Lake Wesleyan Church with Pastor Tim Young officiating.  A time of gathering will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church on Sunday.
