Michael Lee Borgen Age 55, of Rice Lake, WI, died suddenly with his loving family surrounding him on Monday, November 4, 2024 in Rice Lake.

He was born on December 22, 1968 in Rice Lake to Richard and Elaine (Lammers) Borgen. Mike graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1988. He worked for Marketplace Foods and Kwik Trip in customer service for many years. Mike was active and helped out the American Red Cross for 7 years, volunteered for the Jaycee’s, and was active in the Boy Scouts, was an assistant Scout Master and then became a Sea Scout and received a Merit Award for his community service. He loved watching the weather and their reports. Mike was a fantastic photographer and loved taking pictures of sunsets, sunrises and all the beauty in nature. He loved reminiscing on his life, his childhood, the 1980’s and wore his life on his sleeve.

He is survived by his parents, Richard and Elaine Borgen; 2 sisters, Kim (Brian) Schwark and Shannon (Travis) Saffert; nephews and nieces, Tyler (Courtney) Borgen, Carlee (Aidan) Lynch, Kyle Smith, Samantha Saffert and Emily Saffert; a great nephew, Christopher Borgen; and special lifelong friends, Marc Schwanke and Roy Polichnia.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, Rev. Karen Johnson officiating, with interment in Nora Cemetery in Rice Lake.

Visitation will be held from 4-7PM Friday at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Little Red Barn Dog Rescue.
