Michael Damen Winters, age 42, of Lac Courte Oreilles, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023.

Michael was born March 3, 1980, in Hayward, WI, the son of Ronald Winters Sr. & Kathryn Fleming.

He was gentle & generous and kind to all, people and animals, he met during his time here. Michael was quick to laugh and always brightened up a room. He was a grass dancer and a singer. Michael is loved dearly and will missed by many.

He is survived by his mother Kathryn Dernovsek; daughter Emily Rose; siblings Ron (Winters Jr.) House, Johnny Bear House, Carla & Darla Winters, Shyla Thayer, Ronah Quay Winters, Anna Little Feather Winters, Rain Bird Quay Winters, Charles Edward Winters, Cassandra (Winters) Griffin David Jon Delugo & Mia Delugo; many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces & cousins.

Michael was preceded in death by his father Ronald Sr.; grandparents Arthur & Alberta Fleming; and uncles Lewis Fleming & David Fleming.

Tribal Funeral Rites will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at New Post Community Center. Chato “Ombishkebines” Gonzalez will officiate. Burial will be in New Post Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10th at New Post Community Center.

Honorary casket bearers will be Mia Delugo, Jack Emery, Damon Fleming, Douglas Fleming, Neil Fleming & Mindy Schultz.

Casket bearers will be Amaro Brabbs, Travis Fleming, Dan Kingfisher, Brennan Potack, Charlie Winters & Ron (Winters Jr.) House.
