In Memory of Michael D. Gaynor
Michael Dale Gaynor, age 83, of Siren, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on October 22, 2024, surrounded by his family. Michael was born in Minneapolis, MN to parents, Michael J. and Olga M. Gaynor. He graduated from Roosevelt High School, and went on to the University of Minnesota where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mortuary Science.
After graduating college and getting married to Dianne, they first settled in Minneapolis for many years and then later in Bloomington. Mike worked several years as a Funeral Director/Mortician, and then started at 3M Company, where he would work for 34 years as Director of Engineering in the hard goods department. By the time Michael was 35 years old he and Dianne had four kids under their belt. In addition to working fulltime, he also took on side jobs, as a father of four might do. He maintained his Mortician's license and worked that part time, drove taxi and limousines, partnered in a bar business... He was First Responder at 3M and an Instructor training others in First Aid and CPR.
Michael remarried in his 50's to Patricia and together they lived on Coon Lake in East Bethel for 20+ years. After retiring at age 58 Michael went on to finish out the few credits left he needed to earn his Masters Degree. He never sat still or had an idle mind. He would say, "I don't know how I ever had time to work!" Michael kept himself busy involved with many things such as the Corvair Car Club that he was a member of since his early 20's, the Coon Lake Association, Lions Club, Recycling of East Bethel, the VFW, Gambling manager of meat raffle and pull tabs. A forever donator and volunteer for veterans services...
His family will remember him as someone that would do anything for anyone. He valued hard work and honesty and being true to your word. With his kids growing up Mike coached Bloomington BAA Hockey, Basketball, Volleyball and Softball. He played on a men's hockey league for years and made his kids skating rinks in the back yard in Winter. His other hobby was messing around with cars in his garage and that was the place of many conversations with family, friends and neighbors.
Known as Mike, Mick, MD Gaynor, Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, Friend... Michael was super loved. He preceded in death by his wife Patricia Moellman, parents Michael J. and Olga M.
