In Memory of Merial Wiesner


May 30, 1916 - January 6, 2019

Merial Noreen Wiesner Age 102 of Rice Lake, WI left this world to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Woodstone Assisted Living in Rice Lake.

She was born on May 30, 1916 in Minneapolis, MN to Irvin and Eleanor (Gough) Mittelstadt. Merial moved to Spooner with her mother at age 4 and attended Spooner schools graduated from Spooner High School in 1934. Merial then attended Washburn County Normal School graduating in 1936. She was married to Maynard Wiesner at the Holy Island on Long Lake in 1937. They resided in Cameron, Madison and Stevens Point during her husbands career as a Grey Hound Bus Driver, Northwest Distributor for Correct Craft Boats. They returned to Cameron and finally Rice Lake in 1955. She was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Federated Women, Rice Lake Fortnightly, Thursday Afternoon Bowling League until she was 94, Women of the Rice Lake Moose Lodge, Rice Lake Elks Ladies and Lakeview Medical Center Auxiliary.

She is survived by her 6 children, Julie (Bob) Mackey of Jacksonville, FL, Janice Goldenstein (Wendell Buzby) of Manhattan Beach, MN, Carol Scheurer of Mounds View, MN, Candace Falk (Tim Lange) of Rice Lake, Constance (Terry) Nelson of Rice Lake and Jeffrey Wiesner of Chetek, WI; 13 grandchildren, Greg, Susan, Kari, Rob, Kim, Stacy, Steve, Rick, Tom, Dan, Sena, Madison and Alisha; 22 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; 2 nieces, Debbie and Beth; a nephew, Larry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Wiesner; an infant son; a son, Charles Wiesner; a grandson, Maynard Wiesner; 3 sons-in-law, Dick Scheurer, Harry Falk and Orlen Goldenstein; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Loren and Shirley Wiesner.

A celebration of her wonderful life will be held at 11AM Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, Rev. Grant Aaseng officiating, with interment in the Nora Cemetery in Rice Lake. Visitation will be held from 4-6PM Friday at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Rice Lake Fortnightly Scholarship Fund, Pink Ribbon Advocacy or Bethany Lutheran Church.
