In Memory of Maxine Glessing
July 3, 1926 - April 28, 2017
Maxine Hattie Glessing, 90, of Shell Lake, formerly of Barronett died Friday, April 28, 2017 at Shell Lake Healthcare Center where she has resided for the last 10 years. Maxine was born July 3, 1926 in Ireton, IA to John and Rose (Richardson) Hullemann. She was married at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Cumberland, WI on June 15, 1944 to Norbert S. Glessing who preceded her in death on February 15, 2015. Together they farmed east of Barronett where they raised their three children. In 1967, Maxine went to work at 3M and retired after 22 years. After retiring, she enjoyed gardening, canning, doing a little traveling, but most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Maxine is survived by her sons: Richard (Valerie) Glessing of Washburn, WI and Calvin (Julie) Glessing of Spooner, WI, daughter: Marleen (Mark) Hermann of Rice Lake, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, sister: Wynona (Gary) Heifter of Barronett, brother: Jack Hullemann of Siren and sister-in-law: Lila Mae Johnson of Rice Lake, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers. There will be a private ceremony on the family farm at a later date.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Skinner Funeral Home of Shell Lake.
