Mavis I. (Rasmussen) Mireau, 90, of Chetek, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Heritage Lakeside in Rice Lake, Wisconsin.

She was born October 30, 1930, to Hans and Mildred Rasmussen, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. She graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1949. From there she attended Eau Claire State Teachers College to gain her teaching credentials. She taught in Fall Creek and Chetek. Mavis married Lloyd Mireau in August, 1953. They farmed in the Rice Lake area until moving to Chetek in 2000.

She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Wanek of Litchfield, Minnesota, and Kathy (Earl) Grover of Chetek; and one grandson, Erik (Paige) Grover of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, in 2001; parents; and sister, Helen Jane Arnevik.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Heritage Lakeside.
