In Memory of Mary Skibbe

February 10, 1932 - April 25, 2022

Having lived an extraordinary life, Mary Skibbe saw the face of God on April 25, 2022.

Mary’s greatest achievements in life included being the wife of Robert “Bob” Skibbe, mother of Dick (Patti), Tom (Karla) and Don, Grandmother of Todd (Brooke) and Trisha (Patrick), and Great Grandmother of Fisher, Cedar and Connor.

Mary loved nothing more than being a housewife and mother. After having worked for 10 years at Yellow Freight Trucking in Rockford, IL and several other part time jobs, Bob and Mary retired to Wisconsin in 1994 to indulge in their passions of fishing and being in the outdoors. Mary spent the greater part of 40 years ensuring her sons loved and lived well. This is especially true of her youngest son, Don, who lives with an invisible disability.

Mary is survived by her sons, Tom and Don, grandkids Todd and Trisha, great-grandkids Fisher, Cedar and Connor and the Stephen Mitchell family.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her son, Dick, and her daughter-in-love, Karla.

Services will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Appleyards Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI from 1-3 pm with Pastor Kathy Smith from the First Presbyterian Church holding a service at 2 pm.

Private burial services will be held at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.

Mary requested that donations be made to the First Presbyterian Church in lieu of flowers.

Appleyards Home for Funerals is handling the arrangements for Mary.
