In Memory of Mary Ramstrom


August 29, 1932 - December 3, 2021

The angels came for Mary Jane on December 3, 2021 to Spooner Hospital to bring her to her heavenly home.

Mary Jane was born at home near Cushing, WI on August 29, 1932 to parents Harry and Mary Christensen.

Mary Jane’s parents moved to Webster and she started first grade at Dongola School. She continued with school until the sixth grade in Webster, went back to Cushing for 2 years and returned to graduate from Webster High School class of 1950. Mary went on to become an elementary teacher. She attended Polk County Normal – a two-year course to become an elementary teacher. She was employed by the Webster School District from 1952 – 1988 where she taught 1st and 2nd grades. Over a period of 10 years of summer school, night classes and correspondent courses Mary completed two years of college, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Mary was a very dedicated teacher, each of her students were very special and she loved all of them.

On August 16, 1952 Mary Jane was united in Marriage to Robert Ramstrom in Pine City, MN. They raised three children and had lived in the Webster area for over 65 years.

Mary Jane was a long-time faithful member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (LCMS) in Webster. She loved her church, her fellow members and donating her time wherever she could. She also was a member of the Otis Taylor American Legion Auxiliary Unit 96 and Polk-Burnett Retired Educators Association.

Mary Jane dearly loved her husband, family and friends. She was a wonderful mom, grandma and great grandma.

Mary Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mary Christensen; husband, Robert Ramstrom; son, Steve Ramstrom; and other relatives.

She is survived by her son, Scott (Nadean) Ramstrom; daughter, Sandra Ramstrom; grandchildren, Matthew Ramstrom, Amanda (Nathan) Eiler, Croix Swanson, Ilie Horvath; great grandchildren, twins Mason and Damien Ramstrom, Maren Marie Eiler; brother, Ed Christensen; sister, Vi (Pete) Olson; as well as nieces; nephews; and their families.

A private family service will be held later this week.

Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster.
