In Memory of Mary Peckman

January 23, 1946 - October 16, 2020

Mary Susan Peckman, 74, of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin, was born on January 23, 1946 and passed away on October 16, 2020 with her family by her side, after recently being diagnosed with cancer.  Mary was born at Miller Hospital in Saint Paul, MN to Art and Virginia (Borgen) Ramberg.

Mary graduated from White Bear Lake High School in 1964.  She married the love of her life Roy Peckman at her parents' home in White Bear Lake, MN on June 25, 1966.  They were married for 51 years and together had 4 children: Kipp, Scott, Angela and Wayne.  Over the years the couple lived in Henderson NV, Cody WY, Saint Paul MN, Austin MN, Luck WI, Centuria WI, and Balsam Lake WI.

Mary worked at MN DOT before her children were born and then became a homemaker, lovingly committed to raising their children while Roy drove semi-truck across the country.  After her children were grown, she worked at SuperValu deli, The Frost Top drive-in, and Stars-N-Stripes Fireworks.  Having grown up on White Bear Lake, she was an avid swimmer and loved watching all the kids swim.  She also enjoyed bowling and was a member of several leagues.  She loved playing cards and board games, watching the Vikings, playing bean bags and enjoyed needle point, crocheting and knitting.  She loved camping; especially in her earlier years in the Boundary Waters, more recently with all the grandkids at campground water parks.  She attended every school event she could and was a devoted smiling face in the stands for all her kids and grandkids.  In the last few years Mary looked forward to "happy hour" with a wonderful group of neighbors in her apartment building that she enjoyed spending time with.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents Art and Virginia, husband Roy, son Kipp and sister Judy.  She is survived by her adoring children: Scott (Natalie) Peckman, Angela (Tom) Fox, Wayne (Janna) Peckman and daughter-in-law Bobbi Engman. Along with, 14 grandchildren: Katie (Brian), Cassandra (Cory), Karly (Royce), Tyler, Clay (Allyson), Cole (Lizzy), Austin, Cody, Calli, Blayne, Taylor, Hayden, Alexis and Ella.
