In Memory of Mary Holmstrom


November 5, 1926 - January 8, 2019

Mary M. Holmstrom, age 92 of Turtle Lake, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 8, 2019. 

She was born in Lankin, North Dakota, the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Soukup) Mayer on November 5, 1926. 

She grew up in Lankin and moved to Minnesota and raised her six children.  She married Clark (Del) Holmstrom on December 26, 1969 in Denver, CO.  They moved to Turtle Lake, Wisconsin.  She worked for Jerome Foods, until she retired.  After retirement, she worked for the casino hotel.

Mary is survived by her sons, Thomas (Cathy) Pich of Elko, MN, John “Buzz” (Karen) Pich of Pensacola, FL and Jerry (Cheryl) Pich of Almena; daughters Mary Scholla of Bullhead City, AZ, Joyce Pich of Almena and Debra (Mark) Freitag of Hillsboro; 13 grandchildren, 29 Great-Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren.     

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, Joseph; brother, Edward Mayer; and 2 great-grandsons.

Funeral services for Mary Holmstrom will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Turtle Lake with Pastor Steve Miller officiating.  Visitation will be from 9:00 until 11:00 A.M. Thursday morning before the service at the church.  Burial will be at Wayside Cemetery in Barron.
