In Memory of Mary A. Helling


March 31, 1933 - April 3, 2024

Mary Ann Helling, 91, of Rice Lake, formerly of Turtle Lake died Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake.

She was born March 31, 1933, in Flora, IL, to August and Thersia (Diemeke) Lampe. She was married in Mattoon, IL, on November 22, 1952 to Raymond Helling.

Mary had an extensive and varied collection of knick-knacks, and enjoyed both crocheting and knitting. She spent many winters in Brownsville, TX after Ray passed in 1990. She rode a horse or mule annually in the Wagon Train for Camp Courage for the Courage Center in Golden Valley, MN.

She is survived by sons: Raymond (Sheila) Helling, Jr. & Dan (Melanie) Helling of Turtle Lake and Charles (Twila) Helling of Sheboygan; daughters: Joann (Don) Schmidt of Rice Lake, Janet Helling of Waycross, GA, and Susan Helling of Rice Lake; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren: 3 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by daughter, Linda Schulz; grandson, Jeremy Strenke; siblings: Edward Lampe, Henrietta Gaines, Lorraine Strohl, Eugene Lampe, Clarence Lampe, Paula Beukema, Rita Harr and Rose Ann Chaplin.

No formal services will be held.

Skinner Funeral Home of Rice Lake is serving the family.
