In Memory of Marvin Fredrickson
Marvin Fredrickson, age 85, of Rice Lake, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 23, 2019.
He was born at home on April 20, 1934, in Stanfold Township to Erick and Clara Fredrickson. Marv graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1952. He married Marge Hicks on Oct 4, 1952, at Rice Lake. Marv and Marge began raising their family on a plot of land just a few miles outside of Rice Lake. Farming was a big part of their life - they were dairy farmers, crop farmers, and even raised black Angus beef cattle. In 1956, Marv began operating his construction business, which grew into a successful venture built on his reputation for integrity and hard work. He specialized in commercial building, but his projects spanned from concrete, flat work, and masonry walls to residential basements, sidewalks, and driveways… not to mention the countless projects for family and friends. Always a perfectionist, each job came with Marv’s personal guarantee that the project would be nothing less than the very best. He was blessed to have met so many friends through his work. Marv worked many hours, often finishing concrete into the night, but he was never too busy to spend time with the ones he loved, even after a long day. Marv knew the value of creating memories with his family. He loved to take them on vacation. One day in the 1970s, a piece of lakefront property caught his eye near Hayward. Marv immediately saw its potential… and he was right. It has become the perfect place for his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids to gather and create countless memories together. Marv’s commitment to God and his family was reflected in everything he did. He will be remembered as a fun and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Marv is survived by his wife, Marge; a son, Bruce Fredrickson (Ann) of Eau Claire, three daughters, Susan Halverson (Phil) of New Auburn, Jan Timm (Sam) of Wautoma, and Renee Hellstern (Ron) of Visalia, CA, nine grandchildren; Clark Fredrickson of River Falls, Jill Fredrickson of Eau Claire, Tom Halverson (Jessica) of Woodbury MN, Heidi Tietz (Jeremy) of Chetek, Eric Timm (Danielle) of Rochester MN, Stephanie Bascom (Tim) of Milwaukee, Nicole Adams (Caleb) of Visalia CA, Traci Martin (Kurt) of Visalia CA, and Dustin Hellstern of Visalia CA, as well as 13 great grandchildren: Xavier, Zander, and Zayda Timm; Gideon Halverson; Haili, Haidn, and Harpr Tietz; Jens and Daphne Martin; and Madelyn, Hudsen, Dayana, and Nathan Adams; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bob Fredrickson, and a sister, Kathleen Gens.
