In Memory of Martha Simon
Martha “Marty” Washington Simon, age 91, of Winter, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Hayward Area Memorial Hospital. She was born on July 6, 1927 in Oak Forest, IL, the daughter of Constantine and Anna (Falenska) Stavron. She was united in marriage to Elmer John Simon on January 28th, 1951.
Marty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was a dedicated homemaker. She was a great cook who was known all around the Winter area for her delicious apple pies. She enjoyed helping plant and, in her later years, plan her garden each spring. Marty loved living on Bluegill Lake and delighted in watching the birds and wildlife that also called the lake home.
She is survived by her children, Elmer (Toni) Simon of Kingman, AZ, Linda Stulc of Winter, WI, Jeff (Annie) Simon of Addison, IL, Laurie Simon and Mary Simon both of Winter, WI; her grandchildren, Samantha Craig, Matthew (Kayla) Simon, Jeff Simon Jr. and Dan Simon; her great-grandchildren, Connor, Jadyn and Corbin; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Marty is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elmer; and her siblings, George Stavron, Patina Krause, Helen “Heno” Stavron, and Jenny Massey.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Winter, where visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the hour of Mass. Private interment will be held at Winter Cemetery.
