February 14, 1935 - November 14, 2018

Marlys Jean Mlejnek, 83, of Haugen, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at The Shell Lake Health Care Center in Shell Lake, Wisconsin. 

Marlys was born on February 14, 1935 to Rudolph and Martha (Parks) Thompson in Shell Lake, Wisconsin.  She attended schools in Shell lake and Eau Claire.  She married LaVerne R. Mlejenk on September 24, 1955 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin.  She enjoyed cards, dice, embroidery, puzzle books, gardening, bird watching, and feeding the squirrels. 

Marlys is survived by: five children; Lori Berschneider and friend, Rick of Haugen, Tammy (Dick) Larson of Rice Lake, Todd Mlejnek of Shell Lake, Craig (Shari) Mlejnek of Birchwood, and Becky (Darrell) Pierce of Rice Lake, eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and three siblings; Dorothy Hrdlicka of Rice Lake, Gary (Barb) Thompson of Cameron, and Cheryl Peaslee of Rice Lake.  Marlys was preceded in death by; her parents, her husband, LaVerne, one son, Bradley R. Mlejnek, and two brothers, David and Kevin.

A gathering of family and friends will be held for Marlys on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM, at The Spooner Funeral Home in Spooner, Wisconsin.  Burial will be in The Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
