In Memory of Marlene Moravec
Marlene Ann Moravec, 72, of Sarona died Thursday, August 15, 2019 at her home. She was born April 20, 1947 in , WI to Wencl and Josephine (Treml) Mancl, Sr. Marlene attended Holy Trinity Catholic School in Haugen then graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1966. She was married in Holy Trinity Catholic Church on April 19, 1969 to John Moravec, Sr. They started their family and Marlene stayed home to care for the house and her children. She raised a large vegetable and flower garden and loved to fish, hunt and shop garage sales. She was an avid card player and skilled accordion player. Her faith was a guiding force in her life. Some of her most precious time spent was with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, John of Sarona; 8 children: MaryJo (Pat) Roux of Rice Lake, John A. Moravec, Jr. of Sarona, Lisa Souter of Spooner, Julie Moravec of Cumberland, Carri (Steve) Rohow of Shell Lake, Joy Bauer (Corry Forrest) of Sarona, Amanda Moravec (Keith Albers) of Shell Lake and James Moravec of Birchwood; 25 grandchildren: Taylor, Alexis, Sarah, Matthew, Blake, Adley, Kimberly, Brandon, Andrew, Olivia, Courtney, Jonathan, Damon, Danielle, Taylor, Matthew, Michael, Erica, Brittney, Austin, Elizabeth, Cali, Jordon, Preston and Makenzie; great grandchildren: Carsen, Matthew, Jr., and Elijah; sisters: Mary (Thomas) Biver of Spooner and Patricia (Douglas) Moravec of Cadott; brothers: Wencl (Peggy) Mancl of Rice Lake, Robert (Barbara) Mancl of Haugen, Alfred "Fritz" (Mary) Mancl of Sarona, Bernard (Joan) Mancl of Hastings, MN, John (Jeanne) Mancl of Ham Lake, MN, Joseph (Sheila) Mancl of Prescott, Richard (Cheryl) Mancl of Chetek and David (Linda) Mancl of Shell Lake; sister-in-law, Nancee Mancl of Tilden; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister, Joan Marie, one brother, George and her nephew Donald.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Phil Juza officiating. Burial will follow the meal at Sarona Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are grandsons: Matthew Moravec, Brandon Bell, Austin Bauer, Jonathan Galatowitsch, Damon Galatowitsch, Jordon Hutchinson, Matthew Allar and Michael Allar. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Skinner Funeral Home in Shell Lake and for 1 hour prior to the Mass on Wednesday at the church.
