In Memory of Mark Hines
Mark Kenneth Hines, 58, of Trego, passed away on November 22, 2021 while doing one his favorite activities, hunting deer.
He was born September 16, 1963 in Red Wing, MN to James and Elaine (Krause) Hines, was raised in Ellsworth and graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1982.
Mark joined the US Army Reserve and served four years. He earned his auto body restoration and repair certificate from CVTC in Eau Claire. Mark hauled milk for several years with Mike Metcalf, then worked for Holst Construction before eventually finding his calling as a long haul truck driver. He was married in Ellsworth, WI on September 23, 1994 to Diane Houts.
Mark was a loving husband and dad, and treasured time spent with his grandchildren. He always gave more than he took and was available to help anyone in need. His infectious laughter, wonderful singing voice and unpredictable sense of humor made him friends wherever he went. His culinary skills were legendary and his Facebook posts were often inappropriate. He was a gifted storyteller, and some of them were even true. He was a true "gentle giant".
He is survived by his loving wife, Diane; his parents: Jim and Elaine; daughter, Heather (Mike) Kersten of Wausau; grandchildren; Abby and Blake; step-grandchildren: Kaile Kersten and Levi Kersten of San Antonio, TX; brother, Todd Hines of Elmwood, and sister, Sara (Greg) Place of Ellsworth; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many, many friends.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Whitetail Ridge Campground in Sarona, and there will be a time to share memories of Mark beginning at 1:00 PM with full military honors to follow.
Skinner Funeral Home is serving the family.
