Marilyn Joan Nystrom Age 88, of Birchwood, WI died Sunday, September 26, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Marilyn was born on September 14, 1933 in Chicago, IL to Julius and Mary (Egan) Geiger.

She graduated from High School and was married to Jack Nystrom on September 20, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois. Marilyn worked as an Administrative Assistant for Arlington Heights Park District for many years. Marilyn especially loved operating and improving Nystrom's Resort for many years in Birchwood alongside her beloved husband, Jack.

She is survived by 2 daughters and son-in-law; Susan and Kevin Jacobs of Antioch, IL & Mary Knight of Woodstock, IL; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Bonnie Nystrom of Birchwood/Seminole, Florida; son-in-law, Lee Bube of Hoffman Estates, IL; 8 grandchildren, James, Daniel, Brianna, Steven, Stephanie, Eric, Ryan and Danielle; 7 great grandchildren, Anna, Elias, Marcus, Shepherd, Emma, Scarlet and Lily; 2 nieces, Diane and Maureen; 2 nephews, Richard and Robert.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Nystrom; her daughter, Linda Bube; a son-in-law, Gilbert Knight.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is in charge of the arrangements.
