In Memory of Margaret O'Flanagan


July 6, 1922 - November 7, 2019

Margaret Mary Elizabeth O’Flanagan, age 97, of Barron, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health System Northland in Barron.

She was born July 6, 1922 to Clarence and Margaret (Moran) Warner in Eau Claire County and raised in Dunn County.  She attended Vanceburg Grade School and graduated from Prairie Farm High School. 

On February 19, 1942 she married Gaylord O’Flanagan at the United Methodist Church in Prairie Farm.  Gaylord and Margaret farmed in the Vanceburg area, later moving to a farm in west Dallas. 

Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very special to her. 

She enjoyed many crafts, counted cross stitch and knitting.  In her later years, she quilted daily, which she gave away to family and people in need (over 2500 quilts).  She loved her church and kept busy serving.  She was active in the United Methodist Ladies Aid.

Margaret is survived by her daughters, Kathy Christopherson of Ridgeland and Patsy Haugen of Rice Lake; grandchildren Kelly (Bruce) Larson, Jeff (Diana) Christopherson, Troy Haugen, and Heidi (Chris) Christopherson; great-grandchildren, Rocky, Reggie & McKell Larson, Austin, Lee & Beau Christopherson and Ethan & Dylan Christopherson; she is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gaylord; sons-in-law, Larry Christopherson and Larry Haugen; brother, Delton Warner and sister-in-law Kathleen Warner. 

Funeral services for Margaret O’Flanagan will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Prairie Farm with Pastor Shannon Mattison officiating.  Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2019 and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday morning, all at the church in Prairie Farm.  Burial will be at the Vanceburg Cemetery in the Town of Sheridan, Dunn County. 

Arrangements are being handled by Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron.
